Romijn to Resign as Aston Martin Team Principal at Start of Season 5
Aston Martin Team Principal Romijn is set to leave the team at the start of Season 5, bringing an end to his tenure with the team after joining on 13 March 2026.
Romijn initially joined Aston Martin midway through Season 2, taking over as Team Principal and helping guide the team to 3rd in the T1 standings, his highest championship finish during his time with the team.
He continued into Season 3 as a full-time Team Principal, where Aston Martin finished 4th in T1, marking his best full-season result with the team.
Now, with Season 4 underway, Aston Martin currently sit 10th in the T1 standings, 10th in T2 and 10th in T3, leaving them 11th in the overall Constructors' Championship after the opening two rounds.
Despite the season still being in its early stages, Romijn has confirmed that he will step down from his position at the beginning of Season 5, bringing an end to his time with Aston Martin after more than three seasons.
Romijn's departure will leave Aston Martin searching for a new Team Principal ahead of Season 5, as the team looks to build towards a new era following a period that has included a third-place T1 finish in Season 2 and a fourth-place finish in Season 3.
