Tonight's Tier 1 main race at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been cancelled because of the standard of driving.
The weekend won't be scored as normal. Only the points from the sprint will count towards the Tier 1 drivers' and constructors' championships. The main race has been removed, and no points will be awarded for it. The standings on the site have been updated to match.
From the league
League owner Hazzk didn't hold back. The standard of driving tonight wasn't acceptable, and running a race in those conditions wasn't fair on anyone, especially the drivers who did everything right.
"I love all of you and I love this league, but things like this are just draining. It's not that hard to race clean."
He also apologised to everyone affected by the decision, including the drivers who lose out on points and those racing with us for the first time. That wasn't the welcome we wanted to give them.
Baku won't be back
Baku has been a problem from the first lap, and the league has decided it won't appear on a VRL calendar again.
Racing clean
Tier 1 is meant to be the best racing the league has to offer, and that includes how we race each other. Races are 50% distance: there's time to make a move properly. If you haven't yet, please read the rules, especially On Track Behaviour and Overtaking and Defending.
Tier 2 and Tier 3 aren't affected by this decision. We'll see you at the Spanish Grand Prix next week, ready to put on a race we can all be proud of.
